Victory Attorneys & Consultants has officially launched its Tax and Finance Department, marking a significant milestone in the firm’s continued growth and commitment to delivering comprehensive legal and advisory services to businesses and institutions in Tanzania and the region.
As part of this strategic expansion, the firm has also announced the appointment of Mr. Benedict Kombaha as a Tax Partner, effective 5 January 2026. Mr. Kombaha will lead the newly established Tax and Finance Practice, strengthening the firm’s capacity to support clients on complex tax, finance, and regulatory matters.
The official launch was commemorated through a stakeholder engagement event held on 23rd January 2026 at Protea Hotel Dar es Salaam Courtyard. The event brought together clients, business leaders, key stakeholders, and representatives from the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA). During the event, the firm introduced the new department and outlined how it will assist clients and the wider business community in areas of tax compliance, advisory, and strategic tax planning.
Mr. Kombaha brings with him over eight years of professional experience, having previously worked with leading global accounting firms KPMG and EY, where he rose to the position of Tax Manager. His experience spans a wide range of sectors, including banking, extractive industries, agriculture, telecommunications, hospitality, healthcare, transport and logistics, insurance, and non-profit organisations.
He has advised on high-profile tax and finance matters such as internal restructurings, rights issue prospectuses, debt restructurings, international contracts, and tax dispute resolutions. Mr Kombaha is also actively involved in tax policy formulation, representing professional and business associations, including the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA), Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF), and the Tanzania Association of Tour Operators (TATO).
In addition to his advisory work, he is a recognised thought leader who has published articles on emerging tax issues and served as a tax trainer for professional institutions. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance (Honours) from the University of Dar es Salaam and is a Certified Professional Banker (CPB – TZ) accredited by the Tanzania Institute of Bankers.
