COMPREHENSIVE STRATEGIES UNVEILED TO ELEVATE TANZANIA'S MINERAL SECTOR

The Mining Commission held its first meeting under the leadership of newly appointed Chairperson Janet Reuben Lekashingo in Dodoma today. The session marked a pivotal moment for the sector as Commissioners and the Management Team reviewed the Commission’s quarterly implementation report.



Chairperson Lekashingo applauded the Commission for its outstanding performance in key areas, including revenue collection, the successful operation of mineral markets and buying centers, promoting safety in mining activities, and fostering local content and corporate social responsibility.



“This Commission has laid a solid foundation for the growth of Tanzania’s mineral sector. We are committed to building on these achievements to ensure sustainable development and a significant contribution to our national economy,” Lekashingo remarked.



During the meeting, committees on Technical Affairs, Human Resources, Finance, and Local Content unveiled a series of comprehensive strategies aimed at boosting the sector. These initiatives are set to enhance efficiency, attract investment, and strengthen Tanzania’s position in the global mineral trade.



As the sector evolves, the Mining Commission remains steadfast in its mission to ensure that mineral resources benefit all Tanzanians while upholding transparency, safety, and sustainability.
